Design Statement

"久遠寺有珠" is an instrumental piece composed by Fukasawa Hideyuki with piano and cello. It's a piece of elegant and profound music that starts with a soft piano melody which gradually builds into a melodious orchestral climax. Its flow and rhythm are dynamic and powerful as it reaches the peak, quiet and calm as it goes down to the end. It makes me feel like flying through clouds above mountains and traversing in the oceans, facing rolling waves. I used curve lines as shapes to imply the fluidness and smoothness of the melody. Besides, I applied a set of colors from green to light purple to emphasize the sense of flow and peace. For the powerfulness, I used the spiral curve to guide the shapes rotating toward a focal point in the center of the piece.
